FAQs for Restoration projects

What is your delivery time?

Photos In Demand ‘s turnaround time is usually 1 to 2 days, sometimes sooner, sometimes later depending upon the complexity of the work required. You would be immediately notified of any delay.  A rush can be requested but there may be an additional fee involved.

How do I get my photo restored / retouched?

Send us an email through our Submit page. Describe the work you require and request a price quote. Once you have received the quote simply post the scan of you photo to our server, send via email or you can send the original in for scanning. There is no additional charge for scanning.

What kind of file format should I send?

Scans should be a minimum of 300 dpi and saved as a level 10 jpeg. If your scanner software allows, scan the photo at 16 bit. If you need any additional advice or further instructions, please do not hesitate to contact us. The higher the quality scan the better the results so we may ask you to re-scan if we don’t think we can get satisfactory results.

What if I don’t have a scanner?

If you are just looking for a quote and you are hesitant to send the original, you can send us a good quality color copy. Any submissions of original work are handled with the utmost care.

What will happen to my original?

All work is done on a digital file; your original photograph will not be altered in any way. We follow the same handling procedures as fine art museums. All observations of archival care are practiced which mean your precious photo will be protected from harmful UV light, exposure to non-archival materials and always handled with gloves. It will be returned to you in the same condition in which Photos In Demand received it.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. Photos In Demand will provide you a digital proof of the completed work. We will not send you the finished prints or files until you are happy with our work.

When is payment due?

Payment is due after you have approved the photo and before we send the photograph to you. An invoice will be emailed to you. No files or prints will be released without payment. If there are further issues after you receive the photos we will be happy to work with you.

What kind of payments do you accept?

Photos In Demand accepts PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, cashier’s checks and money orders. Credit card orders are processed via Paypal invoice. Personal checks will be accepted but will require a ten day hold before the photos are released. Corporate accounts can be opened, please email us for further information.
